Morrisons large pork pie, 99p

[Morrisons large pork pie]A "very impressive" pie, which scored highly with the tasters here at pie-man.com. There are pies that piss about, and there are pies that don't. Morrisons are to be commended for creating the Ronseal of pies - it's large, it's made of pork and it's a pie. All good so far.

Crispy pastry, lots of meat and a good size (which, yes, one could categorise as 'large') made this a top favourite. A properly done pork pie - which was quite surprising for a cheap supermarket.

"Excellent, but could do with some seasoning", said the man from Huddersfield, which was praise indeed from someone brought up to eat them "hot, smothered in mushy peas - with the pie cut into four and a bit of HP sauce splashed in, and plenty of vinegar on the peas". We got into bother for saying he ate them with gravy. Glad to have cleared that up.

Score: 6.75 out of 10
