Dear pie-man

I was wondering after looking at your commendable website, why you didn't have t-shirts available in XL and XXL?

I pride myself on being of XXL proportions and personality and I owe this all to pies. It would be a matter of honour to adorn my buddha-esque physique with a steak and kidney or even a pork pie t-shirt.

Is one available?

Yours, Rich

Hello Rich.

Apologies for the delayed reply. We have been away on field trips, sampling pies in foreign climes... But what a magnificently eloquent missive to find upon our return. It's always a joy to find a fellow spirit, one who treats pies with the honour and respect they deserve. Our brother in pie, we salute you.

We are indeed somewhat lacking in the ways of the larger t-shirt. You'll notice we don't do a men's small size either. The plain and simple reason is one of cost - for our first run of shirts, we had concentrate on those sizes that would sell in relatively large quantities, so that we could make enough money back for a second print run and some new designs.

But you're right - it is an oversight on our part, really, to fail to honour those who have immersed themselves most completely in pie culture. So fear not, when the time comes for that next print run, there will definitely be larger sizes available. It's in the business plan and everything. We're also going to do the steak & kidney t-shirt for women, cos that's been another popular request. Oh, and keep an eye out for those new designs too. We have some absolute belters waiting on ice in the vaults, sort of like Meat Loaf in The Rocky Horror Picture Show but with less denim. And no motorbike. And no saxophone. Come to think of it, the new designs are not much like Meat Loaf at all. Which in a commercial enterprise can be no bad thing, I suppose. If we'd gone into our bank and said "We want to make and sell t-shirts that sort of resemble Meat Loaf", I suspect we'd have encountered a somewhat muted response.

The best thing you can do in the meantime, of course, is encourage everyone you know who might fall into the clothing companies' classification of medium or large (or small, medium or large for the ladies) to buy a t-shirt. The faster we sell the existing run, the sooner we'll be able to do another.

Your time will come, Rich. Do not fear.
