Land ahoy!
Avast thar, me hearties! Welcome to one and all from the Yachting and Boating World forum. We hope you've enjoyed your sail round our esteemed pie site. If you're looking for Fray Bentos-related information, can we point you firstly towards our rather strongly held opinions on Premier Foods' finest tinned pies, and to one woman's dangerous experiment with sell-by dates.
Although if you're after more information about Premier Foods closing their Fray Bentos factory in King's Lynn you could try the Lynn News, the Independent, or the Beeb. It looks like production will continue at alternative sites, so we suspect there's no need to stockpile the exploding comestible alongside your grog and hard tack just yet.

I had a Fray Bentos last night for the first time in years and thoroughly enjoyed it! Obviously not much meat and made of rubbish but that's not really the point is it?! If you pay 1.39 from the local shop for a tinned pie it isnt going to be the most upmarket to be fair. On t'other hand even as a Yorkshire man from Ripon and therefore Appletons Pork Pies should be my favourite, I had my second Mrs King's Pork Pie from Borough Market the other day (as favoured my the Regal charles no less...) and it is the finest pork pie i have ever had. No mashed blended rubish in the middle, we're talking large chopped up bits of pork bulging out the sides. Not enough pies in the world if you ask me. I blame Political Correctness. Great idea for a site by the way! Richard Pope
